I’m pretty sure they’re aware. But 2D animation is a lot more expensive. They sabotaged their last 2D films on purpose so they’d have an excuse to dismantle the department. It’s tragic and I for one hope a secondary company becomes a 2D animation giant to full the void Disney’s left in the west
