Jim [to Strickler]: look, let’s just agree to say “I’m sorry” on the count of three. One, two three.
[Silence]
Jim: Now, see, I’m just disappointed in both of us.

Strickler: Can we just address the elephant in the room? I know. This is weird. Mistakes were made.
Jim: By you.
Strickler: And people got hurt.
Jim: By you.

I may or may not spent all of my free time this week watching Troll Hunters and I love Strickler mainly for picking like the coolest nickname for his nemesis.
incorrect-trollhunters-quotes:
Strickler: At my age, do you know how I’m statistically most likely to die?
Jim: At the hands of your student.
Strickler: An accident.
Jim: That’s how I’m going to make it look.

Jim Lake and Danny Fenton chat online weekly to discusses the frustrations of having their nemesis hit on their mom.

The fact that they got Anton Yelchin to record all of season 2 means that it was written WAY before season 1 of Trollhunters even came out. This is pretty standard in animation, where it takes a while to produce anything, but it does put a twist on some little details in this latest season.
Specifically the fact that they made extra sure to sprinkle in little Strickler moments, even though he couldn’t appear properly (he’s super working with the Pale Lady, guys) means that even before the show was properly launched, someone in the writing room steepled their fingers and said “So the fans are going to be real into Walter. Just, excessively fond of him. I know how fans go, and he’s a hot piece slab of green meat with a British accent and greying hair. If we can’t figure out a way to put him in this next season, we’ll at least need to provide some sexy monster-man breadcrumbs until he can come back. Give us a flashback, maybe some subtle cameos. Our periphery demographics depend on it.”
And that man was Guillermo del Toro.
